The Congo Basin is home to the largest expanse of intact tropical forest on this planet, covering somewhere around three.7 million square kilometres. It retains large parts of undisturbed forest – similar to the 108,000 sq. kilometres from the DRC, an area regarding the measurement of Iceland.
